Actually, it's like the worst I-12 song ever... In my opinion.

I know I wasn't in the band but I don't think they meant it to be a great song or anything....just more of a funny cover...especially since Pete played drums on it.

They should've covered a Megaman song instead.

Timbo,
Lighten up. My bad, I promised I wouldn't tell anyone. Anyways, spring break's coming up. Pete's going to Costa but I'll be stuck in Actionville so we'll have to get up for sure.
I'll give you a call when I get into town next weekend.

Do any of you guys know about the Nintendo Cereal System? ... Dan was Link I believe, with some of the other guys from high school that were in other bands, it was sort of a Stanton Allstar band... This was amazing. It was about 10 years ago, only happened at 1 stanton talent show (where they played the Mario Brothers theme) and at one little party at a VFW or something. It was one of the funniest/coolest thing I have ever seen. They all dressed up as video game stars and covered only nintendo 8 bit songs, and there are some recordings some where.... By the way, that same stanton talent show also featured what would become Cue Estey when they didn't play their instruments yet....

here's an interesting tidbit: dan played the TRIANGLE at the end of naked at school, and it only took he and tim i believe 8 takes to get the woodblock/triangle combo down. i have it on video somewhere, i should put it on the site so everyone can see the genius behind get rad...
actually i shouldn't be talking, it took me i think 10 takes to say YAHTZ in "everyday". i was trying out different voices though, so i have a valid excuse. plus dan was tracking me and he kept starting the song at an awkward point so it kept sneaking up on me.
other interesting info: -they actually used a pug for the breathing part in a better friend. come on, have you ever heard a pug breathe?? -we were lucky enough to get animal from the muppets to come in and say his name at the end of home. he has a busy schedule and is always on tour, but he was nice enough to stop in. it only took him one take. beast. -the original tracklist was to feature a cover of tom jones' "its not unusual" but at the last minute dan opted for "you can call me al" -the band was going to record 'sweet 16' for an unprecedented 18th time to put on the album as a secret secret song, but the rock and roll hall of fame called and said that it had already been retired into the hall and they advised against the re-recording.

i emailed dan about that too. but if you listen, in that video dan mentioned about possibly putting that song on the next album. plus dan had mentioned before that he wanted to create a cover album.

wow, now that would be sick. if you ask me, cover albums are where its at. not necessarily from a listening point of view for the fans, but for the band doing it. theres definitely nothing more fun than playing someone elses songs. i for one never get tired of playing other bands songs, but i get sick as shit of playing my own
