Did anyone see Pete last night on the VMAs? Man, he's looking pretty rough! What's up with the stubble and the shaggy hair? I guess that's what Rock Star Land does to ya.
But anyway, I'm definitely proud of all the YC boys for winning an award. They've come a long way, and they worked hard for it. Congrats to them!

I think Ryan Key is a self obsessed drama queen... I can't believe he was crying and acting like a little girl over a stupid MTV award. Did anyone notice when Ryan said "I don't know what I'm doing up here," instead of saying "I don't know what we (the band) are doing up here."
I think he's a egomaniac and that moment was probably the culmination of all his self worshipping to date.... finally the world is recognizing how amazingly talented he is and his stupid Ocean Avenue song is so great. Give me a break... he acts like the MTV 2 award is an Oscar or something. I'm sure all the stories I've heard about how he is full of himself and acts like a rock star asshole now to everyone will only get worse. I personally hate Ocean Avenue and Ryan, but if he weren't in the band I would support them because everyone else seems like they're still cool, including Pete.
I think he'll be the eventual downfall of that band and I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to go into solo career mode sometime down the road because he is so convinced of his own greatness. That's just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I felt the same way about Ryan. I noticed the "I" instead of "we" too. I was pissed off about that. The whole frickin' band helped create Ocean Avenue, it wasn't a Ryan-only production. Why is the rest of the band so content to take the backseat to him? It's not "Ryan Key and His Back-Up Band." Have you seen the video for "Only One?" There are only very brief shots of Sean, Ben, L.P., and Pete. I hate that YC is portrayed as the FRONTMAN and the rest of his band. I mean, every single one of those guys worked hard towards their success, why should Ryan get all the credit? He's not even that hot, anyway. Sean and Pete both have him beat in the looks department. L.P. too. They could definitely have marketed themselves as a whole band, they are attractive and talented enough to do so. Maybe it's the way the label chose to market them, but from my personal experience with Ryan, I have zero doubts that he's egocentric enough to push himself to the fore at the expense of his bandmates. I agree 100% with inspector. Gah. I didn't want to go into that, 'cause I knew that I would go off if that can o' worms was opened. Grrr.

yeah,i dont like ryan much either.he gets all the attention, when in my opinion hes the worst band member they have now.he was kool be4 ocean avenue became a single.that screwed it all up,cuz then he thought he was all that.he should leave, pete should come back to i-12 where he was much better off,and they should get back the old lead singer and guitar player, and get either warren or alex back.
the yc boards were crazy last nite, man ppl were so mad cuz linkin park won the viewers choice.i told them all to shut up cuz most of them only wanted yc to win cuz theyd get a free dvd or w/e.its a bunch of crap.

Oh please. Quit whining, you jealous boys. Ryan Key loves that band and this town...he emphatically says that EVERY time they play here. Being overjoyed at an award as a newbie celebrity is about as common as anything...anyone remember Christina Aguilera's "best new artist" grammy speech? Yea...just a bunch of stuttering emotion. (I'm not a fan of hers, it was just a big issue at the time)...So until you know what it feels like to go from Douglass Anderson to preparing an acceptance speech for one of the most fan-influenced awards in the music industry, kindly do Yellowcard and Jacksonville a favor by shutting the fuck up, and having a little pride in their accomplishments...including Ryan's.

I say congrats to Yellowcard, and everyone involved. I think that its awesome that they've come this far, and its great to see them make it, growing up knowing em and stuff. Ryans always been really cool to me, and im sure that some of his word choice was a little weird, like him saying "I" instead of we, cuz im sure he was real nervous. But yea, personally I think that its really cool to see them make it, because thats what they set out to do when they left Jacksonville, so thats a great thing that they made it happen.

Maybe when the rest of the band gets a little credit, we will. What I said about the "Only One" video is the truth, and anyone that watches it can see that Ryan is featured and the entire rest of the band is barely seen at all. What's the deal with that? I'm entirely happy for them despite my feelings for Ryan, which is why I'm so bitter...the band as a whole worked hard, and Ryan gets the spotlight. It's way too obvious that the band takes second place to Ryan, and it's not fair to the rest of the guys, Pete especially, since most people don't even consider him part of Yellowcard, anyway. They all worked hard, they all deserve the spotlight.

Why don't you just go and suck his Yellow balls if you love him so much? Any fan of Inspection 12 with half an ear for music should notice that Ryan rips off every single idea he has from Dan or I 12 tunes... hell, there's a song about it even. That was not a fan influenced award... Yellowcard happened to have the biggest hit of all the other bands on the MTV 2 awards list except for maybe Modest Mouse... they won because they have the most amount of young underage fans that are home from junior high for the summer and did nothing but vote over and over and over and over again for them to win the award. To me, that doesn't signify a winner... what if you could do that in the presidential election? It's ridiculous... Ryan should be happy that he's a "newbie celebrity" since he has finally found a group of people that are as vain as he is...... MTV and other celebs. Why would I be doing Jacksonville a favor by shutting up? Yellowcard left Jacksonville and they don't live here anymore.... this has nothing to do with Jacksonville... why would I have pride in someone else's accomplishments, especially when they were achieved by selling out their roots and playing pop punk songs for little high school girls. Yellowcard's gay and so is Ryan, and Pete might not be making as much money with I 12, but he definitely would be making much better music and playing for people that appreciate that fact.

Tim farting on a snare drum could have won the MTV2 award, look at who they were up against.. All the awards that they were against real established acts (both good and bad) they got killed... what? they got like 8% of the viewers choice votes.. the fans really spoke on that one, and made their voices heard..... good things.

I second that. I know from personal experience at rehearsals and stuff that Tim farting on a snare drum is a modern masterpiece of musical composition... as long as you don't have to smell it. It was good to see Pete up there. It would be real nice for him to have some time off so we could play a show. By the way, did anyone catch Hoobastank's song? Absolutely brilliant! Hang on... let me find a link to their performance: www.mtv.com/onair/vma/2004/post_show/index.jhtmlDude, seriously I've never heard worse singing ever than Hoobastank's frontman. I know YC has sounded a little rough on their first couple of TV performances, but Hoobastank made YC look like seasoned veterans. Again, I've never heard worse singing than the Hoobastank guy. It's a must listen. I don't know if he was fucked up or what, but definitely check it out. By the way, I thought that Alicia Keys sounded pretty damn good... and then Stevie Wonder started playing harmonica and they went into Higher Ground and it was the best thing all night. I'm sure most people didn't even realize how cool that was but after all that hip hop bullshit it was great to see Stevie rocking out on the Clavinet... he's the man. I could have done without Lenny Kravitz who looked like a bird was attacking him (refer to pictures if you don't know what I'm talking about). Anyway, if it weren't for Pete and those guys I wouldn't have watched and probably will never watch another VMA's for the rest of my life. Later.

hoobastanks singer had to of been wasted somehow,he sucked pretty bad.i never said i wasnt proud of yellowcard's acheivement, cuz i am,but some of ryans behavior is becoming questionable as the band is going to higher places.i agree that pete should come back, cuz sure he may not have been well-known,but the music is much better in i-12.the older singer of yellowcard and the older guitar player should come back, along with warren cooke.

Maybe because they thanked Jacksonville, and always do, dumb fuck. And ya know, in a completely derranged state with the objective to make your little fantasy come true, I would attempt to "suck his yellow balls" if it wasn't for the fact that your chin is resting on them out of desperate jealousy...hoping you may get a tiny taste of some chick he's fucked...because God knows you probably have no clue as to what that's like. But, all arguments aside, this is an Inspection 12 board. And random posters such as yourself should take their complaints to a YELLOWCARD board, unless it has something to do with Peter Mosely. Class dismissed.
