In case anyone cared, Pete has some brief scenes in the video for YC's "Only One." You can get to the video from this page: www.mtv.com/bands/az/yellowcard/artist.jhtmlI'm sort of embarassed for him though, the video is pretty poor.

Well, it's pretty much your typical MTV video. The videos all look the same nowadays and the plots are interchangeable from one video to the next. They show Pete about three times. It's kind of the Ryan video.

he was trying to call the shots at the video shoot. i read in an interview that he wants to direct movies some day so he became aggressive with suggestions. I was there i saw it first hand. the scene where ryan stage dives and sings while he's crowd surfing was his idea. When i heard him ask the director if it was cool i felt sick. I mean that's so damn cliche and egotistical. all the kids there thought it was great because that furthered their chance of being in the video, plus they're too in love with yellowcard to see that. so anyways, that explains why ryan's in the video so much, plus i'm sure you know its common for the singer to get the credit, that's how it goes check out www.rockandrollconfidential.com and look through the hall of douchebags. you'll get an understanding of the singer mentality.

anyone see yellowcard on mtv2's hardrock live? of course pete kicked ass, but man o man, he must fill like dog shit playing in front of those people. anyways, i hope pete crys at night when he replays all those mtv punks singing back to them.
its a sad day. i wonder how dan feels about this. I'm sure he wouldn't mind playing everyday, but i'm pretty sure he'd hate it if kids were singing back songs only because they heard them on the radio or saw the video. all these yellowcard fans are going to jump off the boat when the next big thing comes.
anyways

Yellowcard's success has nothing to do with MTV. They have a huge, loyal fan base that has always backed them. And at least half of those kids at the Hard Rock Cafe show were from Jacksonville.

I'm all for YC - I'm a fan and I have been for years, and I know they've worked their arses off to be where they are today.
HOWEVER - they have recently pulled out of the Leeds Festival over here so that they're free for the Video Music Awards. That, my friends, is bullshit. This better not be the sign of them turning into 'rockstars'. Ugh.
Ah well, I'll stay positive.
Watched the video of YC on the Pepsi something show - live performance - I have to say Pete did look uncomfortable. I'm not going to wish him to cry himself to sleep every night, as he's just doing what he wants to do, but it did make me feel a bit sorry for the guy in a strange way. The rest of the band were skipping around playing and singing to the crowd, whereas Pete just stood still or faced the drummer. Hmm..

Yellowcard's success has nothing to do with MTV. dumbest thing you've ever said, tell that one to the record label who spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on their videos. Yeah, i'm sure it was for nothing, not like mtv exposure sells records or anything. Yellowcard was big without mtv, but now they're huge. they aren't just played on punk/rock stations. they're played on the same shit that plays eminem. anyways. yes their success has to do with mtv.

That's interesting. The WB was the first network to air Yellowcard on TV. Then ABC. And Fuse has been behind them the whole way. I don't see the majority of their fame coming from MTV. Yes I'm sure if they weren't on MTV, there would be less exposure.
But still, I don't care. It's Yellowcard. A band who has a member of my favorite band now in their ranks and no amount of MTV exposure will ever make me bad-mouth them or their success, especially Pete.

Hey, if you people think Pete shouldn't be in Yellowcard because of their success, than I think he has no business being in any band for that matter.
Think about it. Why do you think bands record their music? Why do you think bands play shows in front of the public? Inspection 12 does not make music for themselves, at least I hope they don't. No band does, unless you're a hardcore band and last time I checked, Inspection 12 does not play hardcore. Bands record their music, in hopes to expose their art to as much people as possible. Even hardcore bands want to get paid for their music and earn a living out of doing something they love.
What do you think Yellowcard is doing? If my band made it, yes, I would do a music video, even if it means my band's getting played on MTV or the radio. I would do anything to live my dream, as long as I'm not sacrificing my artistic integrity. And that means spreading your music to as much people. If my band ever breaks it, I would never want to go back to my 9 to 5 job. Neither would any other band.
A lot of bands want to make a living playing the music that they love, for people that think it's kick ass. Even MTV kids. If these kids really dig the music, than who cares? These kids are liking this band for the right reason. I've seen and met people at hardcore shows, who are simply IN IT because it's the trend. They come to shows sporting their bandanas and combat military hats, expecting to fit in and they just look fucking ridiculous. It's safe to say that these people do not belong because they're not in it for the music. I would honestly rather hang around MTV kids, than these so called "underground" music fanatics.
You cannot make a living out of your music, by staying underground. Ken Susi of Unearth still lives with his parents, despite his band's underground success. I'm talking about a very well established musician here from one of the most worshipped bands today. Unearth are metalcore gods! But the sad truth is a lot of musicians in great bands still live with their parents and don't make a lot of money. Some live in vans! For a band to stay underground and to say that we make music for ourselves and no one else, is plain selfish.
If Inspection 12 was being played on MTV instead of Yellowcard, everyone here would be bitching at the Yellowcard board, using their parents computers with the wireless internet access that their parents pay for.
Money does not come out of anyone's ass. Bottom line.

Yeah, except that when Pete quit YC last time, he said how much he hated playing for YC's young and stupid fanbase (among other things).
That's why I think that he sold himself out. It's not about the money and fame. I, at least, think that he deserves it, because he had a part in writing Ocean Avenue, and give credit where credit's due. But when he says how much he didn't enjoy himself the last time he went out there, it makes me wonder why he would want to go back.

When you get up every morning at 6am to work construction, you tend to change your mind about certain things. Like thinking playing shows for younger kids is lame.
Pete's doing an awesome job and deserves every second of it.

Wow, you really need to learn how to spell. Unless you're a rapper, there's no reason to talk like that and I don't really think you type ebonics anyway. Ok, let's run down the list... boi=boy, u=you, thu=the, 2=to, hatin=hating(which is stupid Malibu's Most Wanted shit anyway), n=in, yall=you'll or you all, waz=was, skrew=screw... and many more. Does your brain automatically respell these words now just to be cool or do you actually take the time and effort to try and retype simple, easy to spell words into some dumb ebonics. That post is ridiculous.
