Hi, fellas. I've been a fan since middle school, and now having moved to college, I'm trying to evangelize the cause via the wonderful jukebox known as iTunes. Anyway, long story short, relationship came, relationship went, and I somehow found the inspiration and "talent" to write poetry and songs. Not really as my art, but as a catharsis. Early in, I was joking with myself that I was writing enough material to record an EP...that is if I had any musical ability... Well, through the good times and the bad, Inspection 12 has been the soundtrack. Y'know those survey/quiz things friends email each other, and one of the questions is sometimes "what album is the soundtrack of your life." Not before this relationship could I have ever come up with a real answer to that question. Crazy thing is the bad times were never anything worthy of spite or bitterness. And I loved how even the "angry" or "downer" songs had some sort of positive or uplifting under-message.
This summer upon going back home to Orange Park, I'm seriously considering compiling all the songs and poems I wrote about this relationship into a self-published book. Y'know, "published" by Kinko's, only enough to give to friends, and mostly so that I have something tangible and "forever" instead of letting it all stagnate on my hard drive or rot on leafs of notebook paper. I want to title it "She's Not Like Me, She's Got Things to Do, And She's Got Friends Too, But I Can Still Pull Through" (as I understand the unwritten lyric from Secure) because that really sums up how I feel about it now that it's finished.
So what I'm asking for is your blessing to title it such.
If you'd like, I could send samples of my work. Heh, I'm not claiming their good; they're just sincere.
Hope to hear more from you all in the future! You're way too good to be a hometown secret!
