we heard a little bit from tim on the subject, but what do the other guys think.
Ben from YC gave me the impression that pete wasn't too thrilled with dan, without getting too personal can you tell us if things went sour between you two? I guess this is a pretty good slap in the face to go back with YC, especially after saying honest and profound statements about the dishonesty in YC's music. we've all read that on the old message board when pete explained why he came back to i12.
how does matt feel about all this? seems like you guys were so close to touring as a 4 piece again, and now those hopes are probably gone.
thanks for any info you guys are willing to share.

To be perfectly honest, I'm glad Pete left now rather than getting stuck here working contruction for the rest of his life... he obviously wasn't happy in his previous situation and it will be good for him to go back and try again. I'd like to see how long he lasts this time... only time will tell. I personally can't stand that MTV bullshit and would not want to play on the Tonight Show ever, but that's why I'm stuck in Jacksonville and he's not... it's all a matter of what you want out of life, I guess. As far as he and Dan goes... that's between them, but I will say that nothing "went sour".... they are just on two different paths in life right now and Dan isn't really doing music as much as I think he should, but that will come when he gets some more free time I'm sure. I don't know if we would tour even if Pete hadn't left... that's not really my decision and I have my own projects going that I plan to tour with eventually, anyway. Plus, I've always just been more of a hired gun rather than an actual band member so I try to stay out of everyone else's business and just let things happen. I will say that Pete is kidding himself if he thinks it's going to be any different than the last time... with the Leno and TRL shit going on, it's only going to be worse... I'd like to take bets to see how long he lasts before he pulls all his hair out. If I had to choose I12 or YC, obviously I would pick I12, but then again, I haven't been playing in the band for years like Pete has, so maybe this will be good for him and hopefully he'll realize that both bands can coexist. Anyway, that's all I have to say. later

well, the way i see it, is that pete probaby felt weird hearing all these songs he had a part in writing on the radio and on tv and watching these other guys get all the credit. as far as playing on the tonight show goes. the only reason i wouldnt play on it is because i absolutely cant stand jay leno. dave letterman owns that guy, and has way better musical guests on the show. cant really comment on trl because i dont have mtv in canada, but from what ive seen of it from clips on other shows, it looks totally absurd. and dont be ashamed of being a hired gun, thats the way to go. you dont have to put up with all the other bullshit that comes with being in a band. its like having no strings attached sex with a hot girl without having to date her. worrrrd

thanks for replying matt its nice to hear what people involved have to say rather than a bunch of kids trying to cook up some dramatic story of the events.
i think i agree with petri, it must've been hard to hear songs that you helped write and bass lines that you threw down and not get credit. But like Matt said, this time will be worse than before, bigger venues, more kids with less knowledge of music and more knowledge of the sales Hollister and Ambercrombie.
anyways, i really appreciate you responding Matt.
Good luck scott

Sure, not a problem... you asked me a question... the least I could do is respond. Also, I don't want my response to be taken the wrong way... I have nothing bad to say about Yellowcard or Pete and I wish them the best of luck and success.

no worries Matt, i understand you pretty good and I'd never go off blabbing about things you said. now i might blab about what the yellowcard guys dish out, well because i don't have the highest respect for them, but for a guy that can cook on freddie with such a mature solo, then shit yeah, it all stays here.
