nope, you're pretty much dead wrong on this one. pinkerton is a very complex album, unlike gay little green.
ps. lol, i'm not gay there just isn't another word that describes the tunes off of the green album.

Weezer have always been the best and always will be. But why are we talking about them?

All I can say is Amen... It always amuses me how people frown upon success. I mean, after all, Blink did sell out, right? So what, they don't play small places. If they did? A few thousand fans in that area would be a little dissapointed. And of course it costs more money for a ticket for a band in an arena...mainly because there are so many more costs when pulling off a tour like that. Don't go to their shows. That's cool. But, as far as things being "from the heart?" They had nothing once...toured in a van...had limited budgets...and they happened to throw something innovative at the world around the time they happened to "make it." Their craft may have been silly and disgusting at times, but it was innovative.

Okay, I will admit that during and after "enema of the state" blink took a dive or a climb , whatever you want to call it, and at that point little by little I was pushed away. However, BCR was a turning point for me and I believe it has some great depth. I always discover new things that I haven't heard before or I just kind of shift into to a new phase as far as what I like on it. I think that is what makes a great album. I12 has always done that for me. Furthermore, The new Blink album was interesting to "me" for a few reasons. The whole build up was awesome. Just for the fact that they took advantage of the internet, and shared their lives, music and recording sessions with the fans to promote, instead of coming down on an unstoppable industry, music sharing(unlike other bands and labels). It really peaked my curiousity. They did a lot of things that were anti-industry and I liked it. There are a few songs that I don't really get into and there are some really good songs, but I do commend them for trying something different. We definitely need more of this, because too many people follow and stay safe, therefore too much sounds the same. Besides( and don't grill me for comparing I12 to Blink, cause I'm not) Get Rad was considered different and look at it now.

I think the guys in Blink just want to take a break and do their own thing for a while. They all have kids now, they all have other interests, whether its producing or playing in another band or whatever. When everybody has gotten everything out of their system they'll be back. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
I think it's similar to i12's situation. Pete's in that one band, Tim's in the Softer Side, I hear Dan likes to act, and Matt has Inca Maya. I'm sure there will come a time when everybody is not doing something else, and somebody will get bored and go, "gee, we should make a new record" ... and then they will. Hiatus is a good word. .

If you ask me, they should have broken up before the Self Titled album. The essence of the band is totally gone. I liked Blink 182, hell, I still like some of their stuff, because it was fun. It didn't try to be deep or emotional or convey... any kind of meaning at all really, and I often find myself in the mood for that kinda thing.
The most recent album is definitely more Boxcar Racer than Blink. And I'm not a fan of Boxcar Racer.
