Ok, Dan. I have a question about the songs 'Home' and 'Homesick'? What's the correlation? Wasn't 'Homesick' written after Home? Could you shed a little light on what the song is about? My roommate seems to think the "No one knows how bad you've got it" line in Homesick is meant is a sarcastic tone.
I also want to say that I love GET RAD. It's very rad, you guys totally got rad. I'm buying three more copies to give to various friends who dig your band. Keep on rockin'

3 questions. who is this matt fellow? the webmaster maybe? do your sweatshirts run small? i tend to have a problem buying sweatshirts from bands/labels because they seem to run smaller then sweatshirts by companies like Billabong. zerodown - yeah matt is the new guitarist, not the webmaster. and the sweatshirts do run just a tad small, but only if you like yours to be baggy on you. so if you wear a medium and want it to fit then order a medium but if you want it to be a little big then order a large. hope that helps

Ok I haven't answered anything on this in a while so here goes...
First of all, I've never really listened to much Elliot Smith but I know some people who really really like him. I just think the whole situation with his death is pretty crazy and I hope they are able to figure everything out.
About the Get Rad recording process-Dan and I worked on the songs together for months and went in the studio while Pete was gone playing with Yellowcard. It was really an amazing experience, because we just kept coming up with new ideas and things for the songs the more we worked on them. It was cool also to have a good part of the album done, and then to have Pete come back from tour and go into the studio and lay down all of his piano parts, which added a great deal in my opinion to the overall feeling of a lot of the songs. Overall, I'm really happy with how the record came out. I think a lot of the songs sound better than I expected them to when we were demoing them, and I guess thats all that you can ask for.

Like Tim, I too am pretty satisfied with the way the record came out. If I could change anything it'd be the opening lines of "Homesick" and "Coup de Grace" - they were some of the first vocals laid down and are pretty weak in my opinion compared to alot of the other performances. Hows that for nitty gritty?
No real correlation between "Home" and "Homesick" except that we decided to end "Homesick" with the intro to "Home". I kindof did it as a joke at first, but later realized it sounded kind of rad and decided to keep it in. "Homesick" was written long after "Home". Also, James Trimble wrote the majority of "Home" and helped with a little of the melody on "Homesick" - mainly the verses - so I figured it as a little tribute to my friend and former bandmate. "Homesick" is about finally figuring out what you really want after having believed in something else for a huge portion of your life.

did you guys ever consider putting home right after homesick and basically just skipping the intro of home and getting right into the verse? would have been pretty cool i think, or not? who knows. what do you think

ahh, at last I'm replying to this thread.. I had started to read the whole of the "old" thread, but since it has disappeared, I won't be able to finish my reading off. (which is good, since I have exams next week ;D) but enough of my life. ok so I had a bunch a questions, hope I can remember them all. - Would you ever consider making a shirt that would have written in the back "I won't be a martyr it's too overrated"? cause that must be one of the best lines I've heard in your music (and in music in general actually). - Theorically speaking, would you guys want to come to Europe (and that means France in my case) for a tour? (I know its costs money but its just 'a dream' ) - I saw some people requesting some tabs.. Please, pretty please, could you tab Immortal Beloved out? (or maybe if Immortal is simpler that would be fine). It's really the solo/riff/nice-sounding-crazy-thing at the begining that we really need. I'm saying we because with my friends were a going to get our little band in action and we want to play that song, as we all love it. - What do you think of Thrice? out of pure curiosity... ok that was rather long I admit. But dammit, it means that people like you in France. Actually, in a more serious tone you guys have "been" one of the most inspiring music I've heard in the past year (yeah I'm a 'newbie'.. ) and I just want to thank you for such great tunes. You make me want to quit music and the second after start trying again. It's nice. So keep it up, you guys can now know that you have a nice fanbase in Paris.. 'till next time..

axx-We may consider putting that on a t-shirt...I've never heard anyone mention that before but it could be a pretty cool idea.
Second-I don't know about a European tour. I think that anything could happen in the future but right now it's not gonna happen with our conflicting schedules and whatnot.
Lastly-I really like Thrice. I think I'm probably the only one in the band who does. A lot of those newer bands I don't get completely into but they're a really talented band. Their drummer is really good, and it sounds like their guitarists are amazing, even though I'm not the best judge of that. I think that have something cool going with the mix of melody and hard stuff that they do.
