My band

Hey everybody, I finally got the website up for my other band... the band's called Inca Maya and the website is at www.inca-maya.com. If you only like bands like Inspection 12, then there's a good chance that you won't like this, but if you're into all kinds of different music, then you might like this. You can stream the entire record from the website if you want. If you play a song and don't like, try another... every single song is pretty different sounding since we try to do as many different styles as possible.

I'm about halfway through all of the songs.For something different and unique(which I need every now and then)I love it.Matt,your solos are great,and your bass player is wonderful as well.Do you play piano too?

Thanks, you guys are too cool for listening to that. I guess we could be called a jam band, but I like to think of our band as more of a tour of the 1970's with everything from Stevie Wonder to Pink Floyd to Santana with a harder rock edge in some of it. Our next cd which I'm currently writing is much more of a rock album, with alot of the Latin influence too (Santana, not Ricky Martin Latin). Yes, I do play piano, B3 organ, Fender Rhodes, clavinet, and synths but I'm only playing a little bit of keys on this album. The guy that played almost all the keys is one of Atlanta's top call studio guys and he's the bomb... I do write alot of music on the keys though. The singer is a guy from Jax named Jason who is a fantastic singer, albeit a little more R&B than where we're leaning these days. He can pull off the Stevie Wonder/Harry Connick, Jr. sound but he doesn't play alot of rock music and he probably won't be with us anymore since he just became a father. The first song was awesome. Sounded like it could have been lifted straight off the first Jamiroquai album....i don't know how big they are stateside...

Anyway, now i gotta listen to the rest but i like what i hear so far!

That's cool that you like Jamiroquai... are you from the U.K.? I really like them and they are a big influence on me... I'm not so much into their heavily disco sounding songs, but I really like their funkier sounds like the Return of the Space Cowboy album and songs like Virtual Insanity. Thanks for the compliments.

I just saw your comment about Maroon 5... while I do not think that Maroon 5 is the greatest band ever, I am quite happy that a band that plays all their instruments and probably writes all their own material is making it big. They are a decent band, and I really like their song "Sunday Morning," but I hear what you're saying about the singer... his voice is pretty annoying in certain contexts. All in all, I think they are one of the best bands on MTV right now though.

I have nothing against maroon 5 other than their overthetop videos that are kinda gross. that one with kelly preston, jeez, get real. her daughter is wayyyyy hotter in that video! But other than that, they are a pretty funky band that gets my neck a swayin.
