Dimebag Darrell murdered

I'm sure there aren't very many Pantera fans on this message board, if any, but their former guitarist was murdered on stage the other night. I do not like metal, but he was a legend in that community and he was shot while playing on stage. I'm sure most everyone has heard about this to a degree, but it's just a really sad when a musician's cannot even go onstage without fearing for his life.

It happened on the same day that Lennon was murdered, and I think this is even more tragic, not based on either's talent level or music, but just because Dimebag was killed in front of many fans and the killer took out three other innocent people with him before being shot by police. These people were either there working or just having a good time. On a side note, I truly hate guns, especially handguns.

Dimebag Darrell and John Lennon probably never caused harm to anyone in their lives and these crazy fans that shot them are just too much for me to comprehend. Again, I'm not a metal or Pantera fan, but this is a sad thing to happen for any type of music and its fans.

Yah I didn't realize who it was until my father told me about it. Its awful news.

And yeah, there's really no need for handguns. I think that if we ever do have to use our 2nd amendment rights, shotguns or something will do just fine. Handguns are useless.

Awful tragedy. My condolences to the friends and families of the victims.

I think its insane how his brother (Vinny Paul) had to watch it all happen from behind the drums. I can't even imagine how that guy's dealing with it.

guns should be banned... period. How the hell does someone get into a venue with a weapon. Over here, you're searched in most venues.

Dimebag Darrell is awesome guitarist. I think he was one of "can play the guitar" loud/metal music player. He is famous in Japan too, so many people sad that tragic news...

Yeah, the dimebag thing was crazy shit. The fact that he was shot 5-6 times, in the head no less, makes it an absolutely disgusting act. Nobody should have to witness such a thing, or be subject to it personally. It's a terrible shame. And thats pretty much all I can say
