the song is never in the movie. in fact, the only song that's on the soundtrack that is actually in the movie is vindicated by dashboard, and that plays during the end credits. i have to admit that gifts and curses is an awesome song. pete most likely wrote the whole thing. and it defininetly wasn't written for the radio, wait.......maybe yellowcard could just cut the song in half like they did only one. that would be awesome! make the song so it has exactly 2 verses and 2 choruses, no more, no less. i can't wait!!!! make it simple, so all the kids can sing along! HORRAY

Hey I wasn't saying that I like music to be radio friendly... shit, I play in jam bands, but that's just the market they've chosen for themselves. My saying that was only pointing out that record companies usually frown on that sort of thing and it surprised me that they let them make it so long in the instrumental part. Record companies and radio stations like it short and sweet... no more Stairway to Heaven or anything that's more than four minutes long these days.

Surely more than three minutes is too much these days? It's sad what that says about a person's attention span. Then again, most of what's on the radio is chorus- and you can only repeat something for so long. |

to me, gifts and curses almost sounds like an i12 song, not a yellowcard one. that's all.

glad to see that other people are keeping track of yellowcard's track record of ripping of inspection 12.
i agree gifts and curses came straight from the i12 playbook. thank pete i guess.
so now we're just waiting for dan to pull something out of his hat. now that pete and dan aren't working together pete will be left on his own to come up with his own style. Have you guys ever noticed how pissed pete would get when dan would get all the song writing credit? pete complained on the message board before. i wish the old one was saved.

Yes, I'm alive, but I wouldn't necessarily say well... I'm back in Jax for a while... I had to come back to see my doctor about these panic/anxiety attacks I've been having since I moved, and sure enough they put me on medication. I don't care as long as it works because these last couple months have been hell. How do you know they made 60 grand?? That's pretty sweet. No amount of money would cure me... I can't even go outside some days it's so bad. Oh well... hopefully this medicine will start working soon so I can get back to focusing on music. Later.
