i guess they both happened yesterday, but i just found out a little while ago about Mitch Hedburg and Derrick Plourde (original lagwagon drummer, also old ataris drummer, and bad astronaut drummer) died. Man, that sucks. I remember thinking Derrick was the fastest drummer I'd ever heard the first time I heard "Trashed" when i was in like 7th grade. And Mitch Hedburg was just genious...I seriously can't believe this!

Yeah Tim,
Mitch rocked. I have seen him 3x in the last few years most recently at the Florida Theatre with Lewis Black and Dave Attell. Poppin in one of his CD's now...
I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, "You're gonna have to move, you're blocking a fire exit." As though if there was a fire, I wasn't gonna run. If you're flammible and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit.

hahahaha! He seriously was the funniest guy. Another good one is where he's like "on a stop light, green means go, yellow means yield, and red means stop. But on a banana its the exact opposite....yellow means go, green means yield, and red means where the fuck did you get that banana" haha. I cant believe he died i gonna miss that guy so much. When we were recording Get Rad we downloaded so much Mitch Hedburg and died laughing at it. He was unreal.

Pretty much anything out of his mouth was hilarious. I have 2 of his cd's and a dvd and they will now be played a lot more often. Sucks the good die young. He was hilarious at his shows too cause he would forget his material and make up/splice jokes together and would just laugh at himself. Him saying "that joke is just rediculous" is priceless. The fact that hes gone is a bummer to say the least because I heard he had some things coming up like an HBO show, he just finished some pilot for MTV or something and a few other projects.

so bummed about mitch. i saw him on the craig kilbourne show back in 98, since then i've been a huge fan. why is the pope getting so much attention? there needs to be a national mourning for america's favorite strawberry milk man.
did derreck plourde really pass? Wow yeah, he's an amazing drummer; trashed is so amazing. man, he played so freakin' fast, especially the double kick, damn.

Yes, it is a sad day indeed. Mitch will be missed. I'd only heard about him recently, through a friend of mine. He was great. One of the few comedians I actually enjoyed.

Does anyone know how Derrick Plourde died? He was great. Both him and the Strung Out drummer (who is also dead) were such amazing drummers.

I heard Derrick shot himself. It's truely sad. He drummed on so many records which I used to listen to as a kid. RIP.

Woh, I never heard about that. Tim, you should have mentioned something in IM's.... I liked Mitch Hedberg. I rarely check the Et Cetera section and this is news to me. Did anyone ever find out how he died?

Both deaths were incredibly sad, Mitch died of a drug overdose and Derrick shot himself.
What is this world coming to?
