so is Pete going back on the road with that other band? we'll be lucky to get another I-12 concert next Christmas.
Are there any plans for a new album?
Didn't Dan just graduate? Is he planning on doing some acting?
What is Tim doing?

Or how about possible plans for a new second guitarist? Anything of that nature?
I'm pretty curious about the future of i12, and how Takeover is treating you guys.

I believe Matt lives in Coloroda and he's playing in another band. I hope he atleast comes back to record with i12 if they have a new release coming out. I12 will need another person on the record do give it some depth and personality.

You don't think Get Rad had depth and personality?
Give it another listen.

yeah, i guess i thought get rad was lacking in inspection 12's old personality. Just listen to step into the fire. there are so many different types of vocals. i mean, 4 band members singing, plus a lot of guest spots. and to really make a good point. think about the original opening to the new labels are for cans (you must be very proud of yourself) well that had character, but they took it out. You may say the talking sounded dumb, that may be true, but that's just an example of how they took some character out. I think James was a huge factor for i12, and his lack of guitar and Pete's lack of guitar made the record very Dan centered. And I'm sure no one would really argue with that. Listen to Lost at Sea. It's a brilliant album and dan's awesome at guitar. I think he's almost too good, he sounds like a machine, he plays soo tight. Well i think James knew how to mix it up, and same goes for pete. I'm not dissing Get Rad, I'm just saying I enjoyed the other albums because you got the sense of a whole band. Get Rad sounds like a one man show.
Wellpsh, that's what I believe, dig it or don't

I can understand a need to evolve and try other things on a new record. I personaly prefer the sound/songs of "In Recovery". Get Rad is a good cd, I just prefer the faster harder guitar solo's and songs that made I12 known.

I live in Jacksonville now, and I would love to do some recording. As far as Step Into the Fire being better than Get Rad, I would have to completely disagree. SITF was recorded back before those guys really knew how to make a good sounding record. The songs are good, but to me it is not a very good sound recording and the performances don't sound like they put very much thought into it. In fact, I didn't really like Inspection 12 until I heard In Recovery and I was blown away at how far they had come, from Scott's drumming to the overall sound of the recording. It didn't sound rushed or frantic, but it was just right, and songs like Elegy really showed me how diverse they could be. If you think Step Into the Fire is better than Get Rad, then I want whatever your smoking. No seriously, everyone has their opinions, but I just don't think the two can be compared.

I agree with Matt. Now, don't get me wrong, I still like SITF and all the other CDs before it but I only see the band progressing in each of thier CDs. Each one they seem to get even better. Personally that is why I like the band so much, I am never disappointed.

I like all of their albums....and compared to every other band in this world they are original and aren't afraid to do what they want.....so maybe if everyone listened to them we would all be better off. Just a random thought.

I never said that I thought SITF was better than Get Rad. There are so many things to look at when comparing albums, so obviously, Get Rad was a better recording, obviously the musicianship is better, the song arrangements are amazing, etc. Here's my point.
When I first heard Matt's solo on Feelin' Like Freddie, it then became my opinion that this solo was my alltime favorite Inspection 12 solo. Well, I then read the liner notes and saw that it was Matt. Well, that's my whole point. That there needs to be other people on the next album. I'll love anything Dan does. I mean I'd love to hear a solo album. But you see I'm coming from the perspective of an Inspection 12 The Band Fan. And Get Rad doesn't have the feel of what I was used to with Inspection 12. And it's obvious why. Dan did most of the recording, and Pete came in later, touched it up a bit. And I've heard some of the new songs on Get Rad before drums were added (written), and I can honestly say, that everything was laid out for Tim. I mean there wasn't much room for him to budge, and he didn't. Well, Ben, what do you think, you've heard the difference. So point being, that album is too Dan Centered (i believe dan admitted this, again, to no fault) I wish maybe they changed the band name, that way I couldn't compare it to the old inspection 12 albums. Maybe that's the solution.
And you have to look at SITF as if it's 1999 again. It isn't fair at all to compare the recording to Get Rad. I believe that for their age at the time of SITF, that record is amazing.
Ciao

GreatScott, sorry if I jumped to conclusions. I appreciate what you had to say about the Freddie solo. The thing I said about wanting whatever you're smoking was stupid and unecessary, espcially since I don't even smoke pot anymore, but it was meant as a joke. I believe that they're some good ideas on Step Into the Fire, but it reminds me of the first stuff that I did with my band in the fact that we didn't really know how to make a good sounding record yet. I'm not saying this is true Dan and Pete, but when I go back and listen to how my band's stuff used to sound, I'm embarrassed by it and I can't believe how far we've come in only a few short years recording wise. But then again, I was taking alot of Xanax back then and that's never a good thing when you're trying to record. If they want to make another record, I'd be thrilled to play on it whether they call it Inspection 12 or another name. Again, I hope you never thought that I was saying your opinions weren't valid, but I think Get Rad is great and I've really enjoyed listening to it. Ok, later.

Theres no doubt that Get Rad sounds the best out of all the albums. But I think some of the songs in Step into the fire are more exciting and awesome than Get Rad. Who knows how good that album could have been if the sound quality was top notch.
