merch, cds, shows, gifts for people who have since become fans as a result of me giving them albums...I feel I have the right to know if they're truely over or not. Make a statement, give a hint, something...anything but completely ignoring and avoiding the subject all together. I mean, I love the board and all...I'd just like to know if we're discussing an extint band or not (which I have no problem with either...they've produced a very admirable amount of music and hard work, no one says they can't choose to move and still be loved and talked about)...I just need to know...anyone else?

yeah, they're silence sucks, but i think it goes to show that this is much more personal then simply a band splitting up. I'm still amazed the played on after scott passed away. And once James left, i'm sure the motivation left as well, i think he saw what was coming and bailed out on good terms, unlike pete.
of course the other possibility is they hope we shut up, so floppy cow will continue to sell the records, or at least won't get pissed for putting the record out.
but i'm with kara, can we get some news. i mean the i12 love won't stop

We appreciate all of the support Kara and everyone else here. To tell you the truth, I don't even know what the future of the band is....I know that sounds funny, but I rarely ever get to talk to Dan at all anymore, hes very busy with school and work, and doesn't have a cell phone and is tough to get in touch with. When Pete left for Yellowcard, it was kindof a thing where not much was gonna change band-wise for us, since we only play a few shows a year in Jax. So we thought we'd just have to plan shows around when Pete was in town....now with Yellowcard being as big as they are, I don't see Pete getting much time off. I talked to him on the phone for a while about two weeks ago, and all we talked about was Yellowcard because of how much stuff they have going on. I have to admit its all really sad, but what can I do ya know. Thats about all I can say, but more power to Pete and Yellowcard, as they are in a pretty amazing position, as they well deserve to be. I really hope that we are able to arrange at least another show in the future, and who knows what will happen later down the road, but thats pretty much all I can say right now. Sorry to keep you guys in the dark for so long, we really didn't mean anything by it at all, and you guys have been so amazing to us! Thanks so much to everyone for spending their hard-earned money on a band that I feel very lucky to have been a part of.

thanks tim...i'll always be in support of i-12 no matter what the future holds. however, i am very sad (as you are)to see all of this potential, which was particularly exemplified in "get rad" more than any album to date (as noticed by floppy cow as well), go to waste. however, each of you have futures ahead of you even without i-12, and that's all that matters. maybe an awesome pair of guitar players will mysteriously drop out of the sky and become best friends with dan...he'll give you a call, and the one thing i always loved claiming as born of my own hometown will reform. but until then, we have 6 long albums to keep us rockin'.

I agree, it's been an amazing run. Ten years, you guys should be very proud. Whatever the outcome, I will cherish all the music you have made and will support all your future projects.

lets not forget the band split right after step into the fire. they even had a going out show for that too.
But that doesn't mean i'm hopefull, just that i12 fans have been in this situation before.
step into the fire is still the greatest i12 record.

I don't think anybody should get bummed out at this point. Even though I live in Colorado now, I still want to write and record and even play live with Dan, Tim, and maybe Pete depending on his schedule. I've just left to do what I have to do at this point in my life even if I 12 isn't in my immediate future. I was a fan of Inspection 12 before I was ever playing shows with them so I want to see more stuff from them just as much as anybody, and I hope to see that happening soon. Everybody should call Dan and tell him to quit school and play music full time like I do... that was a joke. Only a complete pothead like me would skip college altogether and play guitar all day long, so I applaud Dan for taking care of school. I'm sure his love for music will always be around, and as far as Pete goes... he's doing exactly what I would like to be doing which is getting paid to play music and tour around. From my phone calls and conversations with Tim, I know for a fact that he's ready and able to play music for a living and I'd love to keep working with those guys. Anyway, that's all I have to say. Keep showing support and maybe it will motivate some new recordings or some gigs. later.

You most definately have my support all the way from australia!! Inspection 12 has almost become part of my daily routine, Homesick has become one of my favourites. I only wish my band and myself had the talent to write such beautifully structured songs. I always loved the vocal harmonies as well specially in the newer stuff. I thought that I12 were on Fat Wreck Chords, or Honest Dons as it were?

I12 was on Honest Don's when they released In Recovery and wrote Get Rad. When i12 sent the record label Get Rad to press it they (Honest Don's) dropped i12....BUT being the king's of DIY they released Get Rad themselves |

They dropped it??? goddam thats sucky. Any hint as to why they decided to go that way? From my understanding Fat Mike makes the exec decisions? Just quietly, i thought the last nofx album was quite ordinary..  |

welcome to 2004!
the basic story is that it wasn't punk enough and that i12 might not have been able to tour in support of the get rad release.
i think there were too many songs, too many cheese songs, slow drumming, that it was too much for the ordinary punk kid's attention span. i can see fat mike listening to it and going WTF?

Frankly, I12 are not allowed to split until I've seen them live. And that's the law. I said so.  Hehe, only joking - but I don't want to add them to my list along with Refused, Braid (pre-reformation), Sublime et al. The bands I never got to see. (though granted I can see Braid if I could afford to get to America...) |

I thought the whole idea of the Honest Don's label was for music that was different as such? I've never been one to label music with a style or genre. Being a musician, whatever comes out comes out. It's just music. I only have the 3 sample songs from Get Rad but i can say that i love all them even though im not really a fan of yellowcard, i think the guy has a pretty decent voice. It just sounds like i12 have matured as musicians, and i love it.
